At Unilin Insulation, we consider sustainable business practices important. To prepare our products for a sustainable future, we are looking for an R&D Engineer Circularity to expand the Sustainable Innovation team.

The Sustainable Innovation team has the objective to prepare Unilin Insulation for the future in terms of sustainability. They work around two main pillars: Climate & Circularity

Your role consists of closely observing technological developments in the field of circularity of (rigid) polyurethane foam insulation, researching them and implementing them within our organisation.

You will have the following tasks:

  • You monitor the state-of-the-art in your domain and maintain relationships with relevant research institutes and universities in order to quickly identify new technologies.
  • Once you have sufficient scientific background, you formulate research proposals in the field of recycling of rigid polyurethane foam, renewable carbon use and the redesign of our products.
  • You develop the innovative concepts and technologies into solutions that are technically feasible, economically viable and environmentally safe.
  • To achieve solid implementable solutions, you work closely together with other R&D and process engineers, and various other stakeholders.
  • You regularly give an update on the progress of your projects to the Product Development & Innovation Manager.

  • You are a chemical engineer (MSc) with several years of experience in the polymer industry or you have a relevant PhD.

  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset: you take initiative, hands-on and persevere.

  • You are communicative and like to expand your network.
  • You are fluent in English.
