The Regional Process Control Engineer for the Cargill Global Edible Oil Solutions (GEOS) will play a critical role in sustaining and maintaining process control technologies deployed at our Cargill sites in Botlek in the Netherlands, Izegem in Belgium and Hamburg in Germany.
The Regional Process Control Engineer will apply process control, continuous improvement and data analytics expertise to improving the efficiency of industrial scale processes. In this role, you will apply a fundamental knowledge of process control and plant instrumentation, coupled with knowledge of process engineering and plant operations, to optimize our production processes to best-in-class performance.
The current programs will be around site Readiness Assessments, Alarm Management and Rationalization and Plant ESP. In this position you will work in one of the plant locations and travel 20% of your time to the other plants.
Key Accountabilities
- Sustain / Maintain the deployment of process control technologies at Cargill sites.
- Validate performance of control strategies and determine value created.
- “Go-To” person for site personal in region to address questions issues around Automation Instrumentation & Control
- Ensure corporate standards around AIC are being followed
- Coordinate/sponsor all process control, instrumentation, and automation related projects in the region
- Ensure that new control loops or modifications of existing control strategies follow proper control loop design practices
- Interact with Engineering R&D subject matter experts, BU Process Improvement Groups, and Operations Teams to maintain current tools, identify emerging issues and to drive successful implementation of projects
- Provide timely communication to key stakeholders (operations, business leadership, technology, and engineering) on project performance and technology efforts
- Drive continuous improvement efforts for internal processes to standardize, simplify and automate tasks needed to enhance the facilities operational performance
- Develop a portfolio of process control and automation projects
- Provide process control and other engineering expertise within productivity projects
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in implementing process control solutions in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
- Knowledge of Alarm Management
- Knowledge of process control monitoring software (Plant ESP)
- Knowledge of PowerBI to visualize data
- Knowledge of SSA tools (Mini Tab, SeeQ, Trendminer)
- Strong knowledge of process engineering fundamentals and unit operations
- Ability to operate independently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to build relationships and apply influencing skills with a diverse array of both technical and non-technical people
- Confirmed proficiency in developing and implementing strategies for process control
- Experience in implementing process control solutions in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of process engineering fundamentals and unit operations
