Overview

ISS is immediately seeking a Research Analyst for the Nordic region. You will analyze corporate governance and financial information and write research reports on publicly traded companies in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, based on ISS’ voting guidelines.

The position will be based in Brussels or Stockholm.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze corporate governance and financial information to write detailed research reports on publicly traded companies
  • Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings
  • Engage with companies and institutional investors on shareholder meetings
  • Answer internal/external queries on research reports
  • Contribute articles to regular ISS publications
  • Assist with policy formulation
  • Participate in various projects and development opportunities
  • Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment and shareholder issues

Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of finance/capital markets and corporate governance, preferably with 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate governance/investment analysis/research with a focus on the Nordic markets
  • Relevant Masters’ degree, e.g. law, economics, finance, business or political science
  • Fluency in English and one of the Nordic languages (Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, or Swedish) is required
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills
  • Very strong analytical ability, with the ability to assimilate large quantities of information
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while also working successfully in a team environment
  • Organized and structured mind, with excellent time management skills: able to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines, particularly during the season of Nordic general meetings.
