Taking a leadership role in driving specific research initiatives for product development. As project manager, you steer the team and lead projects in the fields of product innovation, improvement and development, in installation technology and application as well as in road design.
Provide content for technical presentations, customized per market.
Provide technical training for colleagues, and external customer base.
Provide technical advice, support and expertise for colleagues upon customer requests.
Assess the technical value of road reinforcement products available in the market.
Assist in products and application approvals in different countries.
Research and keep current with relevant product development for the road renovation market.
Create articles and design aids, translate research outcomes into appealing tools and technical marketing content.
Continuous education to keep current with technical developments and standards, and proactively react to and address changes as they happen.
Monitor, participate actively in and report about relevant technical committees and trade associations (attending and participating in meetings, voting on ballot measures and networking, anticipating relevant developments).
Co-develop/customize internal software for the different markets.

Thorough expertise in asphalt technology ¿ at least 5 years¿ experience in a research and development or a similar technical function, related to the asphalt industry.
M.S. in structural engineering, or civil engineering.
Experience in asphalt road design is a plus.
Experience or interest in programing (e.g. Excel, VBA, C, C++) is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritize, multi task and manage to accomplish objectives.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Outstanding communication skills including written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Good command of English.
Must possess the personality, enthusiasm, and commitment to Bekaert Corporation core values.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
