What You’ll Do:

Billtrust is seeking a high-energy Senior Commercial Product Owner (sometimes known in other Software/Fintech organizations as a Product Manager) to drive delivery of our modern International Payment processing services for our B2B SaaS Payments Engine.

At a high level, you will work with customers and internal partners to define, prioritize, and deliver the business outcomes expected from a modern International B2B payments processing infrastructure. Some rails will be built in-house, some will rely on 3rd party tech behind the scenes. You will own the entire product lifecycle around International Payment Processing, inclusive of intelligent routing of transactions, that will sit behind a myriad of applications. Your infrastructure will support 2,500+ customers and millions of transactions annually.

Your day to day will constantly change based on the challenges you are solving for our customers. At the same time pushing them to fruition will exist within a framework that allows maximum consistency while allowing for you to be flexible in your thinking. Ideas on what to spend time building will need strong, validated business cases. They need to be shared with internal stakeholders across the organization and well thought out. Products need to be built, marketed, sold, implemented, and maintained. Therefore you need to be good at working with other parts of the organization to deliver these efficiently, for you own the ultimate outcomes.

You will need to know International payment rails in EMEA now, with expansion into APAC, LATAM possible in the future. You’ll need to know or learn the business processes that surround the office of the CFO (our target customer) and the needs of B2B Suppliers (vs. the typical B2C Commerce many Fintechs and PSPs cater to). You will quickly become an expert with our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions and target markets, and use that knowledge to facilitate the growth of our product suite. It’s a large role and there are many folks here that are experts in their fields that will help you where you ramp your knowledge.
  • Incubate new ideas that solve customer payment challenges
  • Evaluate other people’s ideas for feature enhancements based on market demand, ROI and client impact
  • Build SMART business cases for ideas and drive prioritization backlog via weekly and monthly stakeholder meetings.
  • Help our Technical Product Owner teammates manage multiple product teams’ backlog initiatives, epics, user stories, and cross-product dependencies
  • Provide internal and external stakeholders with the appropriate guidance and direction with regards to roadmap priority
  • Works closely with Product team and other stakeholders to understand the business objectives and actual results of the work
  • Collaborate with Dev/QA leads during product development
  • Works cross functionally with other Product Owners and departments to unblock dependencies and deliver on larger product goals
  • Work with product marketing and technical writers to assist with communication, marketing, training and end-user documentation
  • Persona test new features throughout the release and coordinate test fest prior to release go live with internal stakeholders
  • Provides transparency on results and planning through accurate and ideally automated reporting
  • Review monthly prospect win loss reports with Product Marketing
  • Post on internal social media sites weekly covering topics such as new product features, product tips and soliciting input on new features or enhancements

What You’ll Bring to the Team:
  • Commercially oriented Product mindset. You think in business outcomes but can translate & relate to Product Development.
  • Ability to successfully manage product backlog in a fast paced, product centric environment – 6+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, and work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work directly with clients in user forum, round table, or customer outreach sessions
  • Ability to lead release activities from analysis through to implementation
  • Ability to plan for the future strategy while maintaining the current delivery
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in building and/or connecting to Pan-European Payment Methods.
  • Experience with LATAM, APAC regions a plus
  • European Fintech experience a plus
