Purpose of the job:
Organise, manage and coordinate the financial activities of the Alstom site in Charleroi. The Charleroi site is a Center of Excellence for the product lines Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) and Traction Systems, employing approximately 1400 people. The site controller is responsible for both the financial management of the Charleroi site and the business controlling of all D&IS activities of the Benelux Cluster. The site controller is a key member of the Charleroi site management team as well as the finance management team of the Benelux Cluster.

Key accountabilities
Financial Management and Controlling
- Responsible for providing accurate transparent information, support and performance enablers to the site management team, as well as providing financial guidance
- Assist the Site Managing Director in all fiancial matters as the finance business partner
- Interpretation of Data/Figures
- Interface between site functions
- Monitor and forecast the QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) financial indicators of the sites concerned
- Set targets and control environment for the cost management within the sites in order to maximize performance
- Monitor financial flows and validate the final reports
- Control and validate the financial data provided by the site functions
- Challenge and give insight for risks and variance analyses
- Provide to the business management financial support backed by consolidated data and analysis
- Provide all necessary analysis and assistance to the central management control teams at both regional and product line levels, especially for the product line Digital & Integrated Systems for the Benelux Cluster
- Work at actual, forecast and budget levels
- Develop Action plans in order to optimise performance and implement corrective actions
- Follow restructuring and capacity extension plans if any
- Validate site budget, 3 Year Plan, Rolling Forecast, Reporting
- Set the environment to collect, consolidate, analyse and validate financial data in order to produce actual budget and forecasts, draw conclusions on variances of resource allocation and recommend corrective action
- Validate the financial structure of the locations (processes and systems) in order to satisfy all internal and external requirements
- Comply with the reporting definitions of Alstom guidelines in order to provide consistent and informative management information and ensure compliance with Internal Control
- Interface with Cluster Finance Director, regional and product line controllers to report and cascade information
- Interface with external auditors as well as external third parties required for the financial management of the site
- Coordinate the planning and budgeting scope, activities and schedule of the locations and set targets in order to produce reliable data, resource plans and budgets
- Support the Cluster FD, regional and platform organizations with ad-hoc analyses
- Manage the site controlling team
- Site with sales of €300m+ and around 1400 people on site
- Finance team of 30+ people
- Forecasting accuracy above 95%
- Achievement of budget targets
- Full compliance with accounting and reporting standards
Educational Requirements
Mandatory:
University degree in Finance, Master degree
Experience
Mandatory:
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant finance experience
- External Audit, Site Control or Project Control experience
- Fluent in English and French
- Demonstrate Honesty and Intergrity, Courage and Conviction
- Resilience, ability to work under pressure and exposure N+1, N+2, or Finance Managers
- Very good Communication Skills needed to face many actors in the organisation
- Demonstrate Transparency and Reliability
- Ability to Work in an international Environment
- Leadership ability
- Excellent analytic skills
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
