Gemsotec (www.gemsotec.com) is a fast-growing start-up from Leuven that builds mobile and innovative applications for industry and emergency responders. With INA we support fire departments and other emergency services to become more information driven and to enhance collaboration. With GoRound we digitize operations in food, logistics and chemistry. Gemsotec has been renowned for its user-friendly applications, winning several prizes. Gemsotec is looking for an enthusiastic Solutions Engineer. Together with our team you ensure that the developed software is neatly integrated into the client’s ecosystem, enhances our customer’s operations and improves the field worker’s satisfaction and safety.

Your responsibilities:

  • You work closely together with our CTO
  • You will be involved in solution architecture and system design
  • Together with the team you develop and maintain the Gemsotec software. These are SaaS products targeted to field workers in industrial plants and firefighting.
  • You are involved in DevOps and deployment (eg Kubernetes, Terraform)
  • You are involved in integration projects including analysis of technical requirements with clients
  • You are involved in continuous improvement and ensure that a high quality standard is maintained.
  • You monitor the most important relevant technological developments.

Your profile:

  • You have a master’s degree in computer science or software engineering, or similar experience.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in backend programming using Node.js applications, preferably in a full-stack Javascript / Typescript environment.
  • You have a solid grasp of REST API architecture and best practices.
  • You have some notions in REST alternatives (eg. GraphQL)
  • You have a strong experience in backend components, devops and deployment.
  • Experience with building SaaS products is a plus
  • Some frontend development skills in React are always appreciated
  • You score as a team player, you are flexible and work customer-oriented.
  • You are hands-on and have an agile mindset.
  • You can communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
