Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Lead

The Terumo EMEA Supply Chain department groups the Supply Chain Planning team, the European Distribution Centre (EDC) as well as the EMEA Customer Service team. Together, we build a cross-functional, end-to-end global partnership.

Job Summary

Due to the growing activities within our EDC and the ambitions we have to continue this growth, this new continuous improvement role has been created. In this new role you will be responsible for following up our current CI activities, and initiating and implementing additional improvement projects within Supply Chain with a focus on the EDC in Belgium (Genk).

Job Responsibilities

Initiate supply chain improvement projects

Design innovative and cost effective process solutions to reduce operational costs and increase efficiency throughout the entire supply chain flow but with a focus on the EDC.
Draw up feasibility studies, execute cost-benefit analyses of improvement projects and develop strong business cases to get appropriate buy-in and approval by concerned parties.

Implement supply chain improvement projects

Collaborate on and execute projects in order to ensure an optimal progress of the implementation of improvements and changes.
Manage several projects simultaneously. Per project, manage the involved project flow, project team and motivate, coordinate and support team members.
Evaluate each initiative and follow-up projects after delivery.
Ensure upward reporting.

Expert role

Function as an internal specialist/expert and continually follow up the most recent developments and tendencies within supply chain to maximize his/her own specialized knowledge.
Ensure permanent communication and knowledge sharing with the diverse departments within supply chain.
Anticipate on changes of GDP and other standards applicable to TEMEA and take action to stay compliant.

People Management

Oversees the different projects and works in close cooperation with the stakeholders in the different teams within or outside the SC dept.
Coaching role for the Warehouse OPS Continuous Improvement coordinator.

Profile Description

• Master degree or equivalent working experience
• Extended experience (min.10 years) in supply chain, with minimum 3 years in continuous improvement. You are knowledgeable about future trends in warehousing and supply chain in general.
• Experience in project management, change management and people management
• Experience in supply chain management and process optimisation
• Six Sigma belt is an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, you can create enthousiasm around new projects and write compelling business cases to move from idea to project.
• Fluent in Dutchand English (written and spoken), both languages are a must.
• Willingness to travel (up to 10%)
