As a Market Relations Manager, you will be responsible to:
- Establish IKEA as the preferred choice in the local market by understanding the local market and establishing strong bonds with their customers, all in order to be the Leader in life at home and to drive growth and long term profitability for the store.
- To convert IKEA visitors into IKEA FAMILY or when relevant into IKEA BUSINESS members and activate existing members in order to secure a long term relationship, ensure our customers return more frequently to our store and the local web.
- Take the lead in driving the sustainability agenda of growing IKEA together: build the trust of our co-workers and consumers through demonstrating the practical application of our commitment to having a positive impact on people and the environment.
Working in the store management team you will be responsible for:
- Combining in-depth understanding of peoples’ life at home in your PMA with analysis of relevant research and performances data analysis and securing that this knowledge is the base for the store’s strategic planning process to develop the store market share and improve long term profitability by developing long-term relationships with our customers.
- Taking overall responsibility for IKEA FAMILY and IKEA BUSINESS marketing program in our store in order to maximize their potential. This includes working closely together with the sales department to build on the synergies between the range and the loyalty programs.
- In cooperation with Service office marketing department, plan and coordinate the implementation of the store external communication plan focusing on IKEA owned media to promote relevant messages in the most efficient way to IKEA FAMILY members, IKEA BUSINESS members, customers and consumers.
- Take the lead in driving the sustainability agenda in the store as defined in the ARC model in addendum and taking the lead in driving the agenda for local social initiatives.
- Responsible for developing local social initiatives and raising the awareness of our commitment to sustainability, both internally and with our consumers and external stakeholders, in order to strengthen the perception of IKEA as a responsible company.

Your responsibilities
To be successful in your role, you need to:
- Have experience and interest in consumer and market dynamics, globally and locally, and an ability to quickly develop knowledge of the local market and business conditions
- Have experience and interest in sustainability topics.
- To know (or willing to learn) how to work with IKEA communications (visual & copy identity), understanding role & ways of working of different channels
- Have knowledge of store operations
- Have the ability to understand profit and loss and how to affect its result through their actions
- Ability to set goals and provide clear direction
- Good analytical and numerical skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good planning and organisation skills
- Ability to engage a receiver by creating a passion for your plans
- Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a larger team
- Experience of working with customer loyalty programmes
- Proven ability to navigate and influence in a matrix organisation
- Retail and/or home furnishing experience
- Ability to clearly communicate in spoken and written Dutch, French and English
- Experience of actively selling through the understanding of our customers and their needs
