Unifiber’s goal is to realize an extensive Homes Passed network in Wallonia. We position ourselves as a so called Network Operator, providing in an open fiber optic network to which any Operator or Service Provider can offer its services. Unifiber will provide a dark fiber network that literally passes individual living units and Multi Dwelling Units (MDU’s, high rise buildings), allowing for future individual consumer connections into the homes. This network is foreseen to be deployed in municipalities varying from aprox. 4.000 to 60.000 Homes Passed (living units) per municipality. To guarantee a most efficient, timely and optimal deployment process, we strongly believe that certain critical aspects in our process deserve enough time and focus to support a timely and reliable deployment of our network.

One of these critical process topics is the managing and coordination of the relationship with syndici of MDU’s. We aim to already bring our fiber network inside the building, being ‘homes passed’ as a start. By making sure our network has a fiber termination point inside the building, we can guarantee each resident to later be able to order and receive a working fiber optic connection within a few working days. For us to establish and provide in this, we need your expertise and skills on this domain.

As a Technical Premises Coordinator you will be involved from the moment we first align with municipalities on our deployment ambitions. If we reach agreement on our deployment plan and timing, we ask you to visit the municipality and create an inventory of all MDU’s there. You gather as much information as you can by the outside (size, expected number of living units, age of building, available cabling of third parties etcetera’s) and contact details if not yet know. You will get in touch with each syndicus and introduce our company, our deployment plan, our network concept and the desire to terminate in the premises. You schedule a site survey (or arrange alignment based on technical drawings). During the site survey that you also perform, you establish the most optimal network solution for both entering and terminating at the building as well as defining the future indoor cabling for individual fiber connections into the apartments. In this meeting you also establish the correct data on the exact number of apartments in the building and update our address management tooling accordingly. As a result of the site survey you draw up a site survey report and follow up until formal approval. Your alignment and documentation will be input for our partnering contractor who will perform the actual engineering and deployment of the physical network. It might be that your well established relationship comes to use when adjustments are requested during deployment or in the event we have not lived up to expectations or agreements and we need you to liaise between our contractor and the syndicus.

Who are you?

• You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in a related role, preferably in a telecoms environment;
• You have technical background, are know with fiber optic network concepts and materials;
• You are able to perform a site survey and align on the most cost and/or time efficient solution within the boundaries of our network concept and design rules;
• You are well in setting up and maintaining good relationships;
• You have good coordinating skills, a friendly nature, are structured in planning and communication;
• Ideally you are a native French speaker and good in English;
• Entrepreneurship, the ability to be agile in our changing environment;
• You are driven, enthusiastic, take on responsibility and are used to work with and be part of ambitious targets.
