Based in Brussels, Belgium the Workflow Application Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Business Application Services team in the transformation and digitalisation of the agencies’ key business processes.

NCIA acquire, deploy and defend communications systems for NATO’s political decision-makers and Commands; the agency is on the frontlines against cyber-attacks, working closely with governments and industry to prevent future debilitating attacks.

The role:
The Workflow Application Specialist will be part of the SSBA/BAS group, responsible for the creation and support of business applications within the Agency. As part of the BAS team this role will help with the analysis and delivery of new and improved digital solutions. Those solutions will ensure that paper-based, inefficient and old-school internal processes are replaced with simple, efficient, cost effective and easy to use digital applications.
Working within a small, highly specialised and international team the Workflow Application Specialist will be engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders from all functional areas within the agency (HR, Project Managers, Finance, Acquisition etc.) to understand how digital process automation can improve the quality of their work.
Their duties will include:
- Creating entire digital process automation applications using one of the best low-code platforms on the market (Nintex K2)
- Analysing functional requirements
- Translating functional requirements into sound technical documentation
- Rapidly producing proof-of-concept solutions for demo
- Creating business intelligence relative to those business applications
- Supporting and continuously improving existing applications
About you:
You easily establish good relationships and are able to relate to people at all levels. You produce new ideas, approaches and insights to deliver innovate solutions to problems. Able to adapt to changing circumstances you can manage ambiguity, accept new ideas and change initiatives, further to this you have:
- Existing knowledge or enthusiasm and curiosity for digitalisation and modernization of business applications
- A strong willingness and ability to learn new technologies (in particular low-code)
- Existing knowledge of Nintex K2 and/or other low-code automation platforms is great but NOT essential – we will teach you what you need to know!
- Education and/or vocational training in an IT related field OR a logical mind-set coupled with a desire to start a technical/IT style role with enthusiasm
- Knowledge of web development
- Knowledge of database development
