Your role & work environment

The mission of the ING Debt Capital Markets (DCM) Origination team is to originate bond and related products (for industrial groups, banks, agencies and sovereign issuers) for the entire ING group. We are looking for a new junior colleague for our origination activities from Brussels (focus of Belgian and CEE corporate clients as well as focused Supra Sovereign Agency/SSA clients).

Your key responsibilities

As a junior originator team member, you will have the following responsibilities:

• You will assist the Debt Markets Origination team in their client coverage work with the collection of relevant information about potential and new bonds issued by targeted SSA (CEE) and corporate issuers (Belgium and CEE regions)
• You will keep information on these new bonds up to date (Excel) and process it (analysis of trends, ...), as well as maintaining good contacts with the syndication team in this respect.
• You will assist the team in the set-up of powerpoint presentation and pitches to clients. Subject to the candidate evolution within the team, you will progressively be able to meet clients face to face with senior originators and ultimately on your own.
• You will closely follow up activities on the primary and secondary market as well as new issue trends and keep information up to date to help advising ING clients.
• You will constantly expand knowledge of financial markets and maintain contacts within DCM and the bank (ING Belgium and ING Worldwide).

We look for

Through ongoing contacts with the DCM platform colleagues, syndication, liability management, hybrid and ESR experts and the entire value chain specialists (including traders, sales and research colleagues) as well as through regular contacts with worldwide account managers, we look for an analyst originator who will be supporting the senior originators in the origination of new bond transactions, developing the ING Corporate and SSA franchise.

He will join a young and dynamic team working in an international context.

As a junior originator, we expect:

University degree (Economic orientation/Legal/business). An Academic background with coursework in Finance or economics is a plus

Skills:

• General knowledge of financial markets
• Strong working knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint and good writing skills
• Interest in working with figures and analytical skills
• Flexible, hard worker with sound dose of creativity, dynamism and strong team spirit
• Excellence in planning and organization skills
• Fluency in English and Dutch (level C1) is required

Experience:

A first experience in DCM/Financial Market/corporate/wholesale environment is a strong asset
