Design Production Manager

The Design manager will lead all aspects of digital design work for patient-specific medical. This includes the leadership of a team of highly trained Digital Product Design Technicians located in Hasselt, Belgium and Kyiv, Ukraine. The Manager will lead interdepartmental initiatives to achieve KPI goals in safety, quality, deliver, inventory, cost and people. The Manager is a member of the Machining and 3D Printing Supply Chain management team and will work closely with local site peer managers and their teams of support engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, people management, mentorship and supervision over the Design teams;
  • Manage the design teams for compliance in safety, QARA compliance, product quality, productivity, on time delivery and continuous improvement (including Lean);
  • Evaluate team needs, i.e. staffing levels, equipment or tools and provide support by removing barriers for improvement and progress;
  • All interview steps during hiring process including technical, final interviews;
  • Daily tasks and workload follow-up for the Design teams;
  • Permanent follow-up Design team leader tasks defining priorities;
  • Official communication to local offices made in time and according official communication standards;
  • Set annual goals based on Performance Review aligned to Company strategy;
  • Annually conduct Performance Review based evaluation for all direct reports. Follow Performance Review recommendation for appraisal process. Provide a salary review proposals for direct reports;
  • Team development: delegate tasks, assignment of new tasks, scheduling of trainings; elicitation of needs in training;
  • Plan, introduce, lead and follow new production processes/ changes in old processes according to applicable procedures. Keep old and new processes aligned with company strategy;
  • Build team keeping comfort but constructive working environment. Keep inter-team communication
  • Work closely with peer managers with the goal of optimizing the total performance of all aspects of Operations including seamless communication and transparent decision-making.
Education/Experience
  • College degree preferred in a science or engineering field but not required depending on experience;
  • 2+ years as a manager in a progressive work environment, including demonstration of exemplary leadership skills of Exempt and Non – Exempt colleagues;
  • Experience in working with Dental /Medical professionals and communicating complex restorative dental concepts preferred but not required;
  • Experience in a regulated (FDA, ISO or similar) production facility preferred but not required;
Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, ability to handle high volume workload and changing priorities in a high paced department
  • Open mentality, able to embrace new challenges and thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Computer experience, including standard MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of ERP system, manufacturing modules and/or workflow modules
  • Training and demonstrated proficiency in Lean, 5S and Continues Improvement or similar principles, preferred.
