We are looking for an EH&S Delivery Leader/Quality Manager to be located in Zwijndrecht, Belgium.
The vacancy at the Zwijndrecht plant combines two functions which are typically separated at larger facilities. The specific set-up of the HEC facility in Zwijndrecht however provides the opportunity to combine the job of EH&S Delivery Leader with Quality Manager. The combination of these two responsibilities is not new and has functioned very well in the last years. This is mainly due to the limited size of the plant and the organization.
The Dow Zwijndrecht facility is located on the Ineos industry park in Zwijndrecht (Antwerp-west). Dow owns the assets, but the plant is operated and maintained by Ineos per service contract.
The candidate will therefore work closely together with the Dow business organization but also with the operational organization of Ineos and she/he must have excellent communication skills to work with the local team, the business organization, and the Ineos organization.
EH&S Delivery Leader
Oversees the implementation of the EH&S management system within the assigned client organization, in order to ensure that the business/site/hub objectives are met and the license to operate is maintained. Work together with resources from the Terneuzen hub and the global business organization. Leads and influences the Zwijndrecht team to achieve effective EH&S management system implementation. Supervises daily activities of administrative, technical and/or operational employees. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. As a leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.
Responsibilities / Duties
Owns and implements the site/hub EH&S people work processes, tools and procedures and ensure effective execution in order to attain and maintain an effective EH&S organizational support structure.
Drives cost-effective implementation of EH&S systems through standard work processes, common systems, collaboration with Company expertise groups, appropriate role assignment and training.
Coaches employees in EH&S roles and identify opportunities to leverage EH&S resources, technicians, empowered teams.
Translates the needs of the EH&S leadership into a comprehensive action plan with clients.
Drives implementation and maintenance of the work processes necessary within the client’s organization to ensure compliance with local and country environmental, health, and safety legal requirements and the Company internal requirements.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree plus EH&S, manufacturing or related experience required.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Quality Manager
Has accountability for all aspects of the plant/department quality program as defined in the Business Quality Strategy to enable the business to profitably meet customer and product regulatory requirements related to the quality management system. Serves as an expert resource and consultant and provides training, coaching, and overall guidance to enhance front line knowledge and accountability for quality across key roles and promotes and enables a customer-focused culture one or more plants at a large site with varied interfaces and/or requirements. Works independently to lead quality improvement projects or represent quality within a broader project and has accountability for all change management activities related to product quality across the identified scope. Supervises daily activities of administrative, technical and operational employees. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. As a leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.
Responsibilities / Duties
Leads the site quality program which aligns to the Business Quality Strategy at the plant/site level through effective administrative leadership of plant technicians and/or technologists.
Provides an effective interface between customers, the organization and cross-functional partners to ensure consistent high quality service to customers. Represents the Voice of Customer within the organization and across the business/division, as appropriate.
Builds and enhances cross-functional relationships, services and flow of information between the organization and the customer, Purchasing, Supply chain, R&D/TS&D, Product Stewardship and Commercial, etc. organizations related to the product quality/regulatory requirements related to the quality management system.
Continually improves effectiveness of the quality management system and demonstrates influential leadership to execute improvement opportunities.
Generates and uses quality data such as customer complaints, Inspection Lot and COA failures, and specific plant metrics to enable cross functional partners to drive product quality improvements.
Identifies and leads management of change reviews that potentially impact product quality across identified scope.
Ensures plant Operating Discipline system, procedures and guidelines meet quality system requirements such as Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 9001 and serves as element focal point for the quality requirements of the Operating Discipline Management System.
Provides expert training, guidance and consultation to the organization and other cross-functional roles that impact product quality on customer and product regulatory requirements, and the use of supporting quality tools and processes to achieve plant and business goals.
Identifies and leads product quality improvement opportunities and advanced problem-solving efforts with broader scopes and leveraging potential as determined through data analysis, customer feedback, continual improvement projects, and other quality-related programs.
Establishes and leads the organization’s quality system audit program and leads internal and third party audits, in conjunction with Business or Site strategies, leveraging findings to drive continual improvement.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree plus quality, manufacturing or related experience required.
