For the department Contracting Solutions (Energy Transition & Integrated Solutions division), located in Fleurus, EQUANS is looking for an Electrical Project Engineer.

As an Electrical Project Engineer you will be integrated in the existing E&I-team of our department. You take a leading role to manage the electrical part of the assigned projects. You are the coordinator of the electrical works and will operate under the lead of a General Project Manager.You are a general electrical engineer and you can deal with the following aspects:
  • high/medium voltage
  • low voltage: power distribution, MCC, control signals
  • instrumentation
  • automation, process control

The main tasks are:
  • establish the electrical installation respecting the customer’s requests and specifications or establishing a coherent proposal
  • on this basis, you write the specifications that you will send to subcontractors (internal or external)
  • selection of the suppliers and subcontractors according to the procedures in place
  • assisting the procurement department during the procurement phase
  • organize project tasks to achieve the objectives of quality, time and cost (net margin)
  • creation and follow up of the schedule in order to ensure the implementation of the Electrical sub-project
  • coordinate the work of the Subcontractors in the different phases of the project, from the study to the commissioning while respecting the customer’s requests and specifications, the standards in place
  • actively support the department’s actions in terms of security policy (including monitoring of VCA procedures) and quality policy (including monitoring ISO 9000 procedures)
  • take responsibility for the results of your projects

Do you possess the following qualifications & skills?
  • a technical engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • a proven experience in industrial projects and more particularly in heavy industry
  • a very wide electrical culture and have encountered most of the classic problems
  • active safety is a permanent concern in all your actions in an industrial environment
  • results oriented and in particular financial results
  • an innate sense of organization and know how to carry out several tasks in parallel
  • a sense of responsibility, real leadership skills
  • you know how to work independently, but you appreciate teamwork and can show real listening and empathy skills
  • your communication and reporting are clear, synthetic and effective
  • the human aspect is important to you
  • you are mobile, flexible and ready to travel abroad (Belgium and the neighboring countries) for the duration of the implementation of the projects
  • you speak French, English and Dutch

Our projects are mostly EPC-projects (Turnkey) and concern multi-technical installations in the field of energy production and efficiency in industrial installations – The “Process” component is a major factor in our projects (e.g. energy recovery systems – Water/Steam cycles – Waste-to-Energy plants…) The lead-time of these projects can go from some months up to several years. Within our department, we execute the complete design of the projects, including the basic design of the electrical installations. The detailed electrical studies and execution works are subcontracted internally (sister entity) or externally (other company). Also the construction site supervision and commissioning are executed and/or supervised by our department.
