• Full life cycle of backup storage hardware and software: administration, support including storage utilizations/capacity planning and adjusting data storage requirements as well as monitor and audit system utilization, and performance
• Perform daily backup administrator activities including, backup checks, backup of new servers/services, troubleshooting, and debugging
• Support storage administrators to perform activities including monitoring, zoning, provisioning, troubleshooting, and debugging
• Deploy and implement storage-base replication and Immutable disaster Recovery (Cyber Vault considered as ’Plus’ ) solutions
• Modifications and changes to the Backup Storage and SAN infrastructure/design/configuration by following proper Change Management processes
• Participate/perform in root cause analysis for significant problems and suggests clear recommendations for improvements
• Keep Service Asset and Configuration Management database up-to-date
• Schedule, coordinate and lead planned down times
• Accurately update comments and status to tickets via ticketing system
• Participate in on-call activities
• May require to work on early, afternoon or night shifts, scheduled maintenance, service-affecting activities and contingency work outside of regular business hours
  
  

• Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
• Minimum Higher vocational training in relevant discipline with minimum 4 years post-related experience or a secondary educational qualification with 6 years experience or Storage and/or Backup Certification and 8 years experience or no degree/certification and 10 years total relevant experience on backup software and hardware
• Sound practical experience in one or more of Backup and Restore backup products and integrated backup appliances such as PowerProtect DP Appliances, Avamar, Commvault, Veeam, Netbackup, etc. and their integration with VMware vCenter
• Sound practical experience in implementation, support, testing and maintenance and best practices of backup and storage infrastructure for large-scale distributed deployment
• Sound practical experience for consistent backups and restore of operating systems (Windows, Linux-like, Solaris), databases and application
• VMware VMs
• Microsoft SQL AlwaysON availability groups, transaction log, point-in-time restore
• MySQL
• Microsoft SharePoint
• Oracle backup via RMAN, Archive log backups, backup and restore scripts
• Microsoft Exchange database, DAG, granular level recovery
• Sound practical experience in data retention planning and enforcement
• Sound practical experience in off-site or isolated backups along with backup data replication
• Hands-on experience of SAN and NAS storages
• Hands-on experience with VMware virtual environments
• Able to document current design & configuration and to develop / maintain Standard Operation Procedures / Instructions and training guidance
• Hands-on experience on ITIL Service Operation
• ITIL Foundation certification
• Fluent English both spoken and written
• Desirable Qualifications:
• All Flash (FAS, File/Block) data storage knowledge and experience
• Certification in backup or storage such as DCS-IE or DCS-SA or DCE-IE or ONTAP Administrator or other related
• Hands-on experience on data replication technologies and data protection (Replication: Native Synchronous Block Replication and/or Native Asynchronous Block and/or File Replication and/or RecoveryPoint; Data Protection: Air Gap Protection with Cyber Vault)
• Hands-on experience on fabric switches (Brocade and/or Cisco), Fiber Channel (FC) networking
• Scripting (Python, Power-Shell, etc.) for Storage Automation or collect data/event from storages
• BMC / ITSM Ticketing system
• ITIL Service Operation certification
