The Senior Accountant is in charge of the Belgian accounting team (5p) and the closing operations for Cofinimmo and its subsidiaries. He/she prepares the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and statements for management review.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General accountancy

  • Supervising and explaining the reporting of general costs
  • Administration for the publication of all Belgian annual accounts of Belgian companies within the group
  • Organising and controlling the activities of financial and budgetary reporting
  • Preparation of financial statements at the end of each quarter
  • Intercompany accounting (interest calculation, invoicing, payment,..)
  • Booking of the valuation of the different participations
  • VAT declaration
  • Preparation of several spreadsheets for the management report (Budget vs Actual)
  • Budget preparation
  • Calculation and booking of all the accrual (charges, interest,...).

Closing operations for Cofinimmo and its subsidiaries

  • Reconcile all accounts with necessary information for all companies of the Group.
  • Carry out the general audit of the statutory accounts
  • Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement for all companies of the Group.
  • Review closing entries, provisions
  • Prepare the consolidated income statement
  • Review the Winssinger report and asset accounting

Accounting system

  • Analysis, definition, implementation, testing of the system
  • Definition of reporting system

People management

  • Management by example
  • Definition of growth objectives and supporting team development

PROFILE

Education

  • Master/Bachelor degree in finance or accounting

Experience

  • Relevant experience in a general ledger function and the closing process
  • Exfiperience and/or motivation to manage a team
  • Experience in SAP FICO would be ideal

Expertise and knowledge

  • In-depth knowledge about accounting techniques, regulations and procedures
  • Experience handling accounting software like First or Workiva
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel including pivot tables
  • Planning and organisation
  • Knowledge about reporting standard (IFRS) and experience in researching accounting issues
  • Communication skills in Dutch, French and English
