Your role

Our Legal Consultants make an important contribution to projects and transactions. They are keen to contribute in operating at the forefront of this practice area and assist on all types of competition cases around the world, many of which are cross-border or global.

Depending on the level of their skills, our legal consultants support our partners and associates on the complete range of competition, antitrust, regulatory, and trade issues and our substantial litigation practice, regularly appearing in the European and national courts on EU law, antitrust/competition and trade cases.

This is a chance for a highly motivated candidate to join an award-winning and energetic team of true professionals who consistently strive to develop new and imaginative commercial solutions to the issues faced by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s clients.

Key responsibilities

§ Researching various topics of competition, trade or general EU law, and drafting research notes;

§ Organizing and analysing data or documents gathered in the context of a merger review or antitrust investigation;

§ Attending meetings or calls and drafting minutes;

§ Drafting emails and/or letters for associates;

§ Following up on legal developments and keeping knowledge databases up to date;

§ Monitoring press articles or other media coverage on specific transactions or topics;

§ Preparing first drafts of sections of Form Cos or other submissions;

§ Preparing conference materials for partners or associates.


Qualifications


key requirements

We are seeking motivated legal consultants from all over Europe with at least six months’ relevant practical experience in antitrust, competition and trade.

Eager to do high quality work, you will be able to discover how to contribute to the wider success of the team. You are keen to learn, have the confidence to keep asking questions and you are prepared to work hard.

We are constantly recruiting legal consultants, and we have two main intake periods; September/October and March/April each year.
