Roles and responsibilities

Advanced Technical Support
  • Act as technical resource for our business units
  • Lead application trials at customer sites
  • Translate business technical questions to concrete laboratory/commercial tests
  • Lead and manage tests at pilot scale installations
  • Drive development of case studies, brochures and technical papers with regional expert teams
Innovation
  • Identify innovative growth opportunities
  • Translate ideas from customers / regions into innovation projects
  • Lead and manage innovation projects
  • Set-up collaboration with external partners (customers, equipment builders, academic groups)
  • Contribution margin optimization with raw material/manufacturing/logistics costs
Market Analysis & Intelligence
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • In depth analysis of sales numbers
  • Total cost of ownership / Value in use simulations
  • Use modern tools (e.g. Digimind, PowerBI) to collect market intelligence on key applications
  • Develop technical analysis of Lhoist customer base
Cross industrial activities
  • Act as active member of relevant consortia
  • Present at international conferences
Competency profile
  • MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering
  • Relevant experience (5 - 10 years)
  • Flue gas treatment expertise (Equipment builders)
  • Experience in Waste business (e.g. waste to energy)
  • Experience with Recycling / sustainable manufacturing
  • Comfortable with decentralized organizations
  • Good project management skills
  • Strong network
  • Fluency in English - any other language is a plus
