Meta seeks a highly motivated and experienced team player to serve as Competition Counsel to the company based in Berlin, Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam. Working with a talented and supportive team, this position will advise on, develop strategy for and manage legal risk, litigation, investigations and inquiries related to antitrust matters as well as helping to develop the company’s legal position and strategy on competition matters throughout the world. Associate General Counsel, Competition & Regulatory Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company in connection with competition inquiries and litigation across the world
  • Work with a cross-functional team to develop and implement long-term competition strategy
  • Help develop and execute our legal strategy in connection with review of mergers and acquisitions by competition regulators
  • Provide teams across the company with counsel and advice on antitrust issues
  • Retain and manage outside counsel and other advisors on merger reviews and other antitrust matters
  • Review and advise on pending and developing competition regulation and developments

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8 years plus of relevant legal experience, including at a top law firm, regulator and/or in-house working on competition matters
  • Lawyer qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction in the UK or the European Union
  • Experience representing companies in antitrust inquiries including conduct investigations and merger reviews
  • First-rate experience developing innovative and pragmatic approaches to complex legal challenges with a proven track record in providing concise and business-focused legal advice
  • Experience working with Internet and technology companies
  • Flexibility and eagerness to work on a broad range of legal matters across the world
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an absolute commitment to professionalism and collegiality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in an additional European language
  • Experience with global competition laws and regulators
