The HR Country Head leads all the Operational Human Resources activities in Belgium. The HRCH role is essential to drive quality and consistency with the HR network and with Business in order to embed harmonized and relevant HR solutions for 9000 people in the country in a decentralized and matrix organization.
In alignment with the values of the organization and the HR Model in place, the HRCH will ensure and support an effective deployment of GSK Business strategy.
In Managing the priorities of a complex matrix and decentralized organization, this role will provide outstanding HR operational activities to the different businesses within the country.
Lead, manage and coach individuals and teams to ensure high quality customer service delivery.
Your Responsibilities
- You Ensure effective People Service Delivery in the country in matters such as Reward, Recruitment, Employee/Industrial Relations, Payroll, Benefits, Legal Risks & Compliance, and meet market-level business requirements, customer experience targets & other KPIs.
- Working in a Global HR organization, the HRCH will lead the country HR teams and coordinate all local HR services provided by a Regional structure supported by a Hub located in Poznan. This will request to manage lots of interfaces and stakeholders in Belgium and outside Belgium in a matrix organization.
- Play a key role in embed and grow for the new HR Model ensuring line managers and employees make effective use of the HR technology platform (eg: Service Now)
- In partnership with the HRBLs, support the deployment of the right employee related communication and support implementation of in market changes to ensure our Modern Employer ambition is realized.
- Lead HR Local risk management & activity including audits, country-level mitigation plans, QA Toolkit & privacy. Responsible for crisis management support for HR to business in country (e.g. payroll, data breach, IR/ER)
- Support development of HR capabilities, talent and succession within country HR people services Team
- Lead or be a member of the major local country Governing Bodies such as the Country Executive Board, the work Council or the Safety Committee. Be the HR voice at Country Governance initiative for major/multiple business changes (eg Covid-19, Future Ready, business/HR Changes)
- Be a member of various HR Governing Bodies such as the Senior Vaccines HR Team, the Belgium Pension Board, the EMEA HR Country Heads Board or the EMEA HR Risk Management Country Board (RMCB).
- Be the external HR face and a GSK ambassador in Belgium. Proactive and positive representation of GSK on people-based networks, representative groups, professional bodies/Federation
- Having a deep business knowledge and understanding, be able to define and drive the Industrial Relations strategy.
- In partnership with the HRBLs and the Business, lead the daily execution of the Industrial relations in Belgium and ensure effective risk management of HR activities
- Managing complex Industrial Relations challenges, be able to convince stakeholders , influence and solve situations/problems.
- Having a deep knowledge of the Vaccines Business and organization, maintain and coordinate an effective network with the major Vaccines sites outside Belgium in order to be the voice of Vaccines at the Global Employee Relations Oversight Team (GEROT)
Basic Qualifications
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Master’s degree in people related matters
- +/- 15 years’ experience preferably in an international environment (at Senior Leadership level in HR Generalist functions additional exposure in the HR expertise areas is also a plus for this role),
- HR Leadershipexperience/exposure at country leadership team level and management and development of teams
- Good influencerand ability to convince the various customers, the HR country Head will be able to instil the specificities of the country.
- Experience inleading teams directly and indirectly to deliver high quality outcomes and ability to work in a matrix organization with a decentralized model leveraging influence within a complex network of stakeholders including senior business leaders
- Ability tozoom in/zoom outand manage priorities in every complex and ambiguous situations
- Experience of leading change projects that build organizational capability, reduce complexity and cost.
- Seen as expert HR in a business context – Deep understanding of local business needs and business environment and experience translating into HR plans and solutions.
- Experience driving consistency, standardization and efficiency in an industrial unionized environment
- Budget and Financial planning experience
- Strong performance delivery experience
- Fluent in Frenchand English
