Our client is a world leading specialized glass manufacturer. Their company stands for world-class technology and the highest level of innovation in glazing solutions.

More than 20 leading car manufacturers (VW, Tesla, Ferrari, etc.) rely daily on the know-how of our 6 high-tech production plants and innovation centers, which now employ over 4,000 people.

Due to the ambitious growth of the organization and the opening of our plant near Ghent, we wish to strengthen the team with 1 Junior Buyer and 1 Senior Purchasing Analyst.

The Role

As Junior Buyer you will support the local buyers with the purchase of materials and services for the company, striving for the best possible price, quality and delivery time. You will report to the Purchase Manager or the Plant Manager.

As Senior Purchasing Analyst you’ll assist the purchasing manager with the purchase of materials and services to guarantee the operation of the site. You will take into account user satisfaction in terms of price, quality and delivery times.

Responsibilities

Senior Purchasing Analyst

• You will research purchase requisitions, replacement plans, contracts and open purchases.
• You place orders with suppliers and follow up from start to finish.
• You record and file the purchase file and update the supplier database.
• You identify needs, conditions and type of purchase and provide quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Junior Buyer

• You closely monitor the strategic purchasing and procurement process.
• You maintain detailed records of requisitions/contracts/transactions/open purchases: an accessible database of what has been purchased from whom and details of costs, deliveries and specific suppliers.
• You are able to identify needs, conditions and type of purchase.
• You assist the other buyers in researching trends and suppliers: e.g. gather info on past collaborations
• You are able to negotiate with suppliers (mostly by phone), listen to their needs and make appropriate arrangements. You search for alternatives.
• You follow up the procurement process in SAP: from purchase request to receipt and approval of suppliers
• You follow up the supplier payment process
• You inspect the quality and quantity of incoming shipments. In case of problems you contact the sender.
• You are co-responsible for maintaining inventory.
• You act according to the applicable compliance policy within purchasing.

Requirements

• You have a technical background, preferably with a bachelor degree or similar through experience.
• Ideally you have some years of experience in Purchasing, Logistics or Warehousing
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus
• You speak English fluently
• You are familiar with the MS-Office package: Word, Excel, Outlook, ...
