The role
Edwards are a world leader in the design, technology, manufacture and service of vacuum pumps for a wide range of applications and they have been at the forefront of vacuum pump technology for more than 100 years. Its Customer Centre for EMEA North & East (covering 90+ countries in Northern, Western & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa) focuses on the general vacuum business (non-semiconductors), employs around 80 people (including direct sales) and collaborates with a network of 30+ distributors and agents to cover its wide territory.
Customer Centre EMEA North & East is now looking for a Communications Specialist, reporting to the Customer Centre’s Communications Manager.
You will drive and support the full Marketing Communication mix for the Customer Centre’s employees, distributors, and diverse customer base. In doing so, you should act as a true brand advocate for the Edwards brand with the goal of making it first in mind, first in choice for vacuum solutions & services. You will closely collaborate with the Customer Centre’s team, divisional stakeholders and distributors. To be successful in the role, you will need to be goal-oriented, driven, creative and an organised multitasker. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to get involved across the full spectrum of both internal and external Marketing & Communications activities and will directly help to drive the Customer Centre forward in realising its growth ambitions.
The responsibilities will include:
- Create engaging content that appeals to the respective target audience and is adapted to the medium through which it is communicated.
- Help drive the Customer Centre’s internal communication and sense of unity through a variety of mediums (e.g. monthly newsletter, SharePoint site, mailings, internal initiatives etc.)
- Assist with the planning, coordination and presence at exhibitions, trade shows, internal and external events as well as Customer Centre wide learning initiatives.
- Support the creation, execution and analysis of marketing campaigns, lead generation initiatives and digital marketing activities. These include but are not limited to email marketing, content marketing, PR, web & social media management, and advertising.
- Complete graphic work within Adobe Photoshop & InDesign to create or edit local marketing communication materials & visuals.
- Support the sales force, distributors and customers with marketing and communication materials as required.
- Act as a brand advocate/steward and build brand awareness with all target groups internally and externally.
- Utilise and promote the company’s CRM system and manage the monitoring of leads within the system as required.
- Support the admin side of all Marketing Communication activities (e.g. support logistics, raise purchase orders, set up vendors,…)
- Order and manage the supply of point of sales material such as giveaways, literature, and other marketing materials.
Your profile checks many of the below boxes:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Communications/Marketing (or other relevant field) or equivalent work experience.
- Fluency in English, spoken and written is a must. Other languages are an advantage.
- Working knowledge of MS office.
- Good copywriting skills both for newsletters as well as for the web and social channels (engaging content, optimized for SEO if relevant).
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign are an advantage. Familiarity with the broader Adobe Suite are a plus.
- Knowledge of/Working experience with the following are an advantage: Office365, SharePoint, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Cloud for Customer (C4C), Adobe Experience Manager, Hotjar, Orlo
- Experience with SEO & SEA activities are a plus
