At the Science, Engineering and Technology Group, KU Leuven, there is a position as course development assistant to assist with the project entitled “Sustainable Island Solutions through Science, Technology, Energy and Mathematics" (SISSTEM), an EU-funded project (11th European Development Fund) in collaboration with the University of Aruba (UA). The aim of this project is to initiate a “Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Engineering” started in 2019 and to develop a “Master of Science in Sustainable Engineering” starting in 2022 at the University of Aruba. In the project 6 SPOCs (Small Private Online Courses) will be developed.
Responsibilities
The candidate:
  • Makes sure that the SPOC material available in Dutch is translated correctly into English.
  • Makes sure that if needed, the content of the SPOC material is adapted to the local needs of the SISSTEM students. He/She will do this with based on the advise of one or more KU Leuven professors involved in the project and in collaboration with the University of Aruba.
  • Makes sure that the SPOC material is implemented in an online environment so students can access the content.
Profile
Profile of the candidate:
  • Holder of a Masters degree in Bioscience Engineering, Engineering Science, Engineering Technology, Sciences – or an equivalent degree.
  • Interested in contributing to a large-scale European funded project on capacity building in small island states.
  • Proficiency in both English and Dutch is a must.
  • Ambitious, dedicated, a problem solving attitude and capable of managing different tasks simultaneously.
  • Works independently, but is not afraid of asking assistance and help if needed.
