Job role: Data Engineer

Start date: ASAP

Hours pw: 40 hours per week

Location: Geel area, Belgium / remote

Duration: contract till end of the year, followed by 6-monthly extensions

Rate: Competitive

Are you looking for a new challenge as a Data Engineer? Our client has an opportunity for someone to join their organization. Together with the team you will be responsible for building data pipelines. You will design, implement, test and deliver data processing and ETL solutions. You will mentor and develop other data engineers in adopting best practices. You are the technical ambassador to the team.

You will work together with other engineers, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Architects and other stakeholders to evolve the product and optimize the release cycle to improve user experience.

You have experience/knowledge with;

- Experience to deliver results on multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment

- Experience in Python, good knowledge of PySpark

- Experienced in structured & unstructured data, data lakes

- Good knowledge of SQL (preferably Hive) and No-SQL (preferably Dynamo DB)

- Good knowledge of cloud platform tools (preferably Amazon Web Services - AWS)

- Ability to review complex big data architecture designs

- Average knowledge of DevOps (Kubernetes, Docker) and good knowledge of CI/CD (Jenkins)

- Agile Mindset, preferably with experience working in Scrum
