1.1About the role

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure / Config As Code Software Development Engineer in the Big Data domain.

Based in our Leiden area (Netherlands) Operating Center or in our La Hulpe (Belgium) Headquarters offices, you will be working within an Agile squad in charge of our Big Data platform.

You will be working in close collaboration with local and remote team members (EU and US based) for which you will undertake assignments and activities for medium to high complexity related products.

1.2About our team

Our engineering team delivers a real-time Big Data and Analytics platform that integrates and connects SWIFT’s operational data to enable customers to make data-driven decisions.

Our team integrates in an international Agile environment with main hubs across three continents.

1.3Responsibilities

Design, develop/maintain, test and deploy Ansible playbooks and also use a range of other DevOps tools (Jenkins, docker, Nexus, SonarQube, …) to bring to the next level our CI/CD pipeline delivering a highly distributed and time critical Big Data & Analytics infrastructure either in the Cloud (AWS) or on premises based on RHEL, Flume, Kafka, Elastic Search/Logstash/Kibana/Beats and Elastic-ML.

Design and develop automated unit, integration and regression tests.

Meet with customers to understand needs and requirements and make recommendations on best practice systems solutions for small to medium size/complexity/risk projects.

Provide technical assistance to other SWIFT colleagues and assist in resolving problems.

Provide technical guidance to customers and act as mentor to less senior team members.

Give presentations to management and customers.

Prepare and complete systems documentation and operating procedures.

1.4Qualifications

1.4.1Professional skills & competencies

Fluent in English, spoken and written.

1.4.2Technical Skills & Knowledge

Experienced with Ansible playbooks and roles design and development.

Experienced with Java and/or Python programming.

Experienced with Docker, Unix/Linux and Bash shell scripting.

Experienced with Jenkins, Git, Maven and Nexus.

Experienced with JIRA / Confluence.

Experience with Kafka / K-connect / K-stream / K-SQL is a plus.

Experience with ELK (Elastic Search - Logstash - Kibana - Beats) is a plus.

Experience with Cloud environment (AWS) is a plus.

Knowledge of Coverity/SonarQube is a plus.

Knowledge of RobotFramework and Ansible molecule is a plus.

1.5Education

University or Bachelor degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience.
