Reporting into the Innovative Medicine Supply Chain Deliver organization, the Director of Distribution and Transportation Excellence will be responsible for revolutionizing our distribution and transportation Deliver operations on a global scale. This role will spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge warehouse technologies, establish, and enforce process standards for distribution and transportation Innovative Medicine Deliver operations worldwide, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and sustainability in alignment with Supply Chain Strategy and in preparation for new product launches, novel therapy’s introduction, and new go to market adoption.

The incumbent will possess a blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technology and best in class standards processes to enhance the distribution and transportation performance for innovative Medicine,

Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of advanced warehouse technologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation in warehouse operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate warehouse technologies seamlessly into existing systems and processes.
  • Establish and enforce standardized processes, procedures, and performance metrics for warehouse and transportation operations across all regions globally.
  • Conduct comprehensive benchmarking studies to assess the competitiveness and effectiveness of our distribution and transportation operations relative to pharma industry peers.
  • Analyze transportation lanes and routes to optimize efficiency, minimize costs, and reduce carbon footprint.
  • Streamline inbound logistics processes to improve inventory management, reduce lead times, and enhance visibility throughout the supply chain.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives within the distribution and transportation function, identifying opportunities to reduce environmental impact and enhance sustainability throughout the supply chain.
  • Lead a global team of 2 people in different geographies. Own people and performance management process for reporting team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as JJOS, Supply Chain Excellence, Transcend, JJT and PCMD, Global Transportation, Trade controls, Sustainability to integrate Deliver Distribution & Transportation initiatives seamlessly into overall business strategies.

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in leadership roles within Operations, Distribution & Transportation, process excellence.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of business process design, engineering, or optimization experience.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes and technologies with emphasis in Distribution, Warehousing and Transportation for pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Innovative Medicine Supply Chain and IM Deliver business processes/requirements is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, with proven ability to influence/collaborate to get to desired result.
  • Strong customer focus (internal & external), including development and management of stakeholders.
  • Project management experience.
  • People management demonstrated experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing a business process improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to influence.
  • English proficiency,

Preferred

  • APICS certification.
  • Master´s degree preferred.
  • Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Six sigma certification preferred.
  • Distribution & Transportation certification preferred.
  • Other Languages than English is preferred.
