Our international client in finance is looking for an autonomous and motivated Pension Financial Specialist who will be in charge of the definition and the implementation of a governance process and risks and controls framework around pension valuation, funding and accounting recognition.

The person will collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders, will communicate to senior management and will be an important actor of the Finance 1st line of defense.
What you’ll do
  • Propose and implement a finance governance framework around pension plans covering the funding policy, the assets management as well as the IAS 19 accounting;
  • Collaborate with the Center of Excellence and CRO teams, maintain and enhance the Risk & Control Self Assessments in the areas of pension valuation
  • Coordinate the relationships with the different internal and external stakeholders (e.g. HR department, financial auditors, actuarial consultant, insurance companies,…)
  • Perform the monthly, quarterly and yearly IAS19 accounting entries and account reconciliations;
  • Monitor key compliance requirements;
  • Monitor any pension plan modifications and advice on impacts on financial/accounting treatment;
  • Be an important actor of the Finance 1st line of defense;
  • On top of the above, support the team for some day-to-day operational accounting activities.
Profile
  • Master degree in Economics or, any relevant experience with minimum 3 years of working in a similar role.
  • Having a natural interest in compliance, governance, risks and controls;
  • Pension accounting, actuarial and/or external audit background would be a key asset
