ENGINEERING & R&D DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Context of need
John Cockerill Hydrogen is the world leader in production and distribution solutions. As one of key strategic goals of the company, Hydrogen mobility is addressing all the infrastructure required to feed any means of transportation such as cars, buses, boats, forklifts, trains,…
With a sharp growth of this sector of activity (over 60% of growth in road transportation in the last 2 years), John Cockerill Hydrogen is continuously reinforcing their teams.
In this context, John Cockerill Hydrogen is recruiting their Engineering and R&D Manager (M / F) to drive and manage the dedicated Mobility technical team.
Main duties
- Manage the Technical department (about 15 people) which includes engineering, R&D and site services
- Support and develop the technical expertise of the Mobility technical team on Hydrogen Refuelling Station (compressor, storage, cooling system, dispenser, etc)
- Ensure the good execution of the hydrogen mobility projects both with a constant focus on cost, scope and schedule. Responsibility of managing the Technical Project Managers working on Mobility projects
- Coordinate activities in close relationship with John Cockerill Hydrogen other departments : project execution, engineering, quality, purchasing, etc
- Support the definition of site services including budget and performances
- Along with the VP Mobility Solutions and strategy experts, develop future technical solutions through a dedicated R&D program.
- Ensure that the Mobility technical team remains at the forefront of hydrogen distribution development (refuelling protocols, norms and standards, competitor analysis, etc)
- Assist the Mobility proposal team to define and validate solutions and budgets
- Lead and provide support to other John Cockerill Hydrogen projects involving compression and storage
Profile
- Experience: 10 years minimum, with a solid project and engineering management proven track
- Strong leadership & management skills; ability to balance & prioritize competing interests.
- Demonstrated ability and human skills to manage a department
- Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical and fluids (PID,…)
- Ability to bring projects to completion on time and within budget
- Team player, ability to work with other departments
- Languages : English, French ; other languages are a plus
