Would you like to have full responsibility for GL accounting tasks for different entities of Barco? Would you love to work in a dynamic, award winning, finance team that has the power to succeed in a fast closing of four days?

To strengthen our finance team, Barco is looking for a GL accountant.

Your Responsibilities
  • You perform and coordinate the month-end closing process in line with the closing checklist according IFRS.
  • You perform more complex accounting transactions (e.g. payroll accruals, restructuring provisions, margin postings…), resolve issues and support accountants and accounting administrators.
  • You provide support to internal and external auditors, and to Tax specialists.
  • To ensure a fluent invoice approval and and quick solution to invoice matching issues, you liaise with accounts payable, purchasing and budget holders.
  • You book accruals and prepayments related to vendor invoices.
  • You assist the Accounting Manager in ad hoc projects.
  • You act a sparring partner for the Controllers for all Accounting related matters.
  • You perform and coordinate the accounts reconciliation process and take ownership for the balance sheet of 5-10 companies in EMEA.
  • You prepare the quarterly consolidation package and liaise with the consolidation team.
  • You prepare the annual financial statements according local GAAP applicable, together with local consulting firms and auditors.
  • You drive various improvement actions in Accounting (standardizations, automation, simplifications…) together with the accounting team.

Your Profile
  • You have a Bachelor/Master degree in Accounting
  • You preferably have a first experience in an accounting job
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English
  • You can deal with complexity and you have strong analytical skills
  • You pay attention to detail
  • You are pragmatic & hands on in a complex environment
  • You know your way quickly in different systems (Excel, SAP,…)
