Job Description

The Group Legal Team of Eurofins is looking for a strong candidate with a broad experience in the areas of compliance and commercial contracts. Compliance is a topic of ever growing importance for every company. Safeguarding compliance with the often complex legal and regulatory environment requires excellent policies, a strong organization and qualified matter experts. The first pillar of this position is supporting Eurofins continuous compliance efforts by further developing, implementing and maintaining the Eurofins compliance program, in close cooperation with the Group General Counsel and senior management. On the second pillar, you will support the Group Legal Team in dealing with a broad spectrum of commercial contract matters.

As Group Compliance and Commercial Contracts Counsel, you will:

  • Identify and assess Group compliance risks
  • Draft and implement Group compliance policies, monitor and report on compliance performance
  • Provide advice and training on compliance matters and policies
  • Conduct investigations of the reported actual or suspected violations of Eurofins policies or laws
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in all fields of compliance
  • Strengthen the existing Group compliance program
  • Provide legal support for complex customer and supplier contracts
  • Maintain and continuously roll-out intercompany contracting schemes
  • Oversee and further develop the General Terms of Sale (GTS) and General Terms of Purchase (GTP) used by Eurofins Legal Entities
  • Support Eurofins staff and leaders by providing templates, training and legal advice on contract matters
  • Your daily work will comprise the following:
  • Practical implementation of various compliance codes and policies, such as the Eurofins Group Code of Ethics, the Group Anti-Bribery Policy and others
  • Further defining and operating compliance-related workflows and processes
  • Monitoring and evaluating compliance risks
  • Giving compliance-related advice
  • Preparing compliance-related trainings
  • Monitoring the global whistleblowing contact point and following-up on the reported incidents
  • Conducting compliance audits, as necessary
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial and supply contracts
  • Overseeing, improving and providing guidance related to the GTS and GTP
  • Preparing commercial contracts trainings

You will travel to other office locations as required and collaborate with teams globally in a virtual setting.

Qualifications

  • Master degree in Law
  • Minimum 6 years of work experience in a law firm and/or as inhouse counsel in the field of compliance and/or commercial contracts
  • Demonstrable leadership experience
  • Expertise in national and European compliance laws and global practices
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating international contracts
  • A good understanding of data protection and competition law would be an asset
  • Demonstrable communication skills
  • Ability to work largely autonomously with limited direct supervision
  • Eagerness to build and develop the necessary structures in an international environment
  • Ability to identify and communicate potential risk areas to management
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of French or German would be an asset
