Punch Powertrain is a multinational, headquartered in Sint-Truiden, with a strong presence in Europe and China. As an independent automotive supplier we develop and manufacture a complete portfolio of powertrain solutions for the passenger car segment (conventional, hybrid and full electric). Our innovative products provide excellent driving dynamics, enhanced comfort, fun of driving and an ever improving fuel economy.

For the Finance department we are looking for:

Group Head of Accounting

Reporting to the Group CFO, the Group Head of Accounting will be responsible for determining group accounting policy and accounting manual, group account structure, monitor and ensure financial statements integrity worldwide, creation of group financial statements including consolidation with support of consolidation expert member. Establish accounting KPI to monitor individual entity accounting performance. Establish and monitor effective closing schedule globally. Develop and deploy training to ensure legal entity compliance to the accounting policy. Creation of consolidated annual report, responsible for group account audit and oversight audit process and issues resolution on entity statutory audits. The group head of accounting is also supporting the Belgium entities statutory accounts, tax declaration and related reporting of PPS and PPET filing with external expert support.

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Master technical requirements of IFRS and Belgium GAAP. Some understanding of other local GAAP is a plus
  • Master financial statements consolidation principles in multiple currencies including balance sheet, P&L and cash flow
  • Establish accounting manual and group account structure
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to manage process globally and virtually and provide training to subsidiaries
  • Handle auditor requirement and resolve audit issues and prepare account sign off at the board

In respect of the candidate profile:

  • Fluent English and Dutch. Additional language skills are a plus
  • More than 10 years relevant experience of which 3+ years must be in a similar role
  • Experience in production environment is a plus
  • A strong academic background (minimum Bachelor’s degree, prefer Master degree) in Accounting
  • IFRS and SAP knowledge a must. SAP BPC consolidation knowledge a plus
  • Have shown led audit process, group accounts set up
  • Great communication skills and be able to steer process at global level without hierarchical relationship
  • Process improvement oriented. He /she demonstrates that he/she has established processes to improve and monitor the financial integrity performance
