The Client, in partnership with Commission services and other stakeholders, provides high-qualitycorporate Business Solutions (Information Systems), common frameworks, and interoperable, reusable components enabling the successful implementation of the Commission’s Digital Transformation and EU policies. The Client builds, operates, and supports reusable solutions, promoting their use in information systems both in DIGIT and in the rest of the Commission. The reusable solutions are either developed internally or based on open-source software, tailored to the needs of the European Commission. The services provided by the unit related to reusable solutions include operations, helpdesk, and training of the IT teams using those components. On top of this, the unit will provide support to other IT teams in order to help integrate these tools or services into their information systems. The latter will be an important activity to foster re-usability. The unit liaises with other units developing information systems, both in DIGIT and in the rest of the Commission, contributing to architectural and systems rationalization initiatives. The end goal is to minimize the development cost of corporate and local systems, to standardize and harmonize as much as possible the architecture of information systems and reduce the overall cost of operation and maintenance of information systems.One of the main programs is the Compass Corporate-Commission-wide workflow eco-system developed in close cooperation with RTD, AGRI, REGIO, and EMPL. The target of Compass Corporate eco-system is to facilitate the reuse of IT components, building blocks, corporate interfaces and business processes. This brings the focus on reusability, efficiency, interoperability, and on the corporate dimension.Tasks:

• Design and executive test plans on computer applications
• Record and document results and compare them to expected results
• Detect software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected
• Generate historical analysis of test results
• Document anomalies and issues
• Maintain database of software defects
• Examine code and execution of code in various environments
• Verify specific actions or functions of code
• Operate and maintain test networks
• Provide application instructions for users
• Develop and document application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications
• Create meaningful error-handling procedures for application code
• Ensure compliance with general programming best practices, accepted web standards, and those standards set forth by upstream sources
• Perform application security audits
• Implement application designs, create queries, scripts, web pages, and other deliverables
• Participate in application planning meetings
• Ensure data integrity standards
• Perform reviews, walkthroughs, or inspections
• Monitoring and reporting the status and progress of each test phase to different stakeholders and to agreed standards
• Owning and resolving issues around the technical solution delivered into the business test environment
• Ensuring effective issue escalation to senior management where there is a significant threat to the delivery
• Working within the overall project or program governance defined by the Project/Programme Manager and contributing to formal project reviews at appropriate points in the project lifecycle.

Knowledge And SkillsThe candidate shall have the following expertise:

• Excellent knowledge of English (spoken, and written) and good knowledge of French (spoken, and written)

• Sound experience in projects that have applied successfully well-established software engineering methodologies

Broad exposure to:

• Working experience with the following tools: Gitlab, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo
• Solid expertise in UNIX bash and system administration. Knowledge of Go lang is a plus
• Good understanding of full stack architectures principles, Web security: experience in at least one set of technology (JEE, NodeJS/Express, Python, Angular, React…)
• Knowledge of service monitoring technologies. Experience in Prometheus and Grafana is a plus
• Knowledge in system automation tools (Ansible, Rundeck…) to deploy and manage multiple production services
• Experience in container management (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in release management tools and continuous deployment tools
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and standards (Open Shift, Open Stack, Cloud Foundry) is a plus
• Experience in cloud-based development (AWS as a plus)
• Testing automation and end-to-end testing is a plus

Due to the particular nature of a large international organization such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

• The capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability, and experience in working in team
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment, on multiple large projects
• Excellent Team Player
• Ability to understand, speak and write English C1, French B2 will be an advantage
• High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained contain personal and confidential data

• Experience in Manual Test
• Experience in reporting and validating bug
• Experience in creating test plan and test cases
• Experience with Java/JavaScript
• Experience with XPATH, CSS, HTML
• Experience with Git/Stash
• Experience with Atlassian tools(JIRA,Zephyr,Bitbucket)
• Expertise of WebdriverIO, TestNG, jUnit, Bamboo, Selenium, Cucumber
• Expertise of performance/stress/load, web service and integration testing (JMeter, SOAP UI)
• Experience with Angular framework
• Expertise on the definition of procedures and use of testing tools

CERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS:The following certificates & standards are required for the performance of tasks:

• Agile@Ec, Scrum Master, or Safe Certification

LEVEL OF EDUCATION:The minimum educational qualification is corresponding to Level 6 of the European Qualification Framework which typically corresponds to a bachelor’s degree of 3 years.Level 910/11/2022
