Location

This position can be based out of any main Cargill location in EMEA (for example; Schiphol NL, Dusseldorf Germany, Weybridge UK, Paris France, Mechelen Belgium).

Hybrid and flexible working available. Relocation will not be provided.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Global Learning & Development Consultant is responsible for skills-based learning for manufacturing plant employees within Cargill, focused on the plant training experiences for Global Operations strategic capabilities. The role will analyze plant skill requirements in a production environment, design high impact training strategies, build internal stakeholder commitment, develop deployment roadmaps and partner collaboratively to develop, launch and govern the product implementation experience across learning programs and resources. The Global Learning & Development Consultant partners closely with the Design Teams in Global L&D (Learning & Development), in addition to business stakeholders to ensure a prioritization of needs and effective deployment in function thereof. The Global Operations Product Owner plays a key part in ensuring employees and leaders across Cargill plants have access to relevant and effective learning opportunities that contribute to their professional growth and enhance performance of the plant.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create the learning product strategy and collaborate with HR (Plant) Leaders, Plant Managers and BOSC (Business Operations & Supply Chain) leaders to gather and prioritize the product backlog, align learning initiatives with business objectives, and ensure the learning content meets the specific needs of plant employees. Establish strong partnerships to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of the skills-based learning initiatives. Ensure alignment of learning product strategy with overall plant skills learning roadmap.
  • Create skills-based learning experiences for plant employees that aligns with the identified skill needs. This involves a broad and innovative set of learning methods, such as instructor-led training, job aids, videos, or digital learning modules, etc. to enhance the skill development and performance of plant employees.
  • Partner across the Learning and Development (L&D), HR Operations L&D team and business L&D team (where applicable) to ensure effective delivery of the skills-based learning experience. This includes coordinating training sessions, monitoring the effectiveness of the content delivery methods, and making necessary adjustments to improve learner engagement and outcomes.
  • Develop evaluation mechanisms to measure the effectiveness and impact of the skills-based learning content. Collect feedback from plant employees, HR (Plant) leaders, and other stakeholders to identify additional/changing plant skills requirements, areas for improvement and make iterative enhancements to the learning materials.
  • Leverage learning technology platforms and tools to enhance the delivery and accessibility of the skills-based learning content. Partner with the Learning Technology team to stay updated on the latest learning technologies and tools and identify opportunities to integrate them into instructional design and delivery.
  • Continuously assess and improve the plant skills-based learning content to ensure its relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in skills development and incorporate innovative approaches into the learning materials.
  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders, including plant managers, HR (Plant) leaders, and Enterprise and BOSC leaders, to understand their requirements, gain support, and ensure the alignment of skill learning initiatives with organizational goals. Effectively communicate the value and impact of the skills-based learning content.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience [Training / Learning & Development]
  • Technical skills training experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a production environment with knowledge of developing and delivering training in SMART manufacturing, CI, Production excellence, manufacturing technology and reliability.
  • Product Owner or equivalent certification
  • Professional certification in Learning and Development 
  • Experience working in a production environment or supporting a production-focused team
  • Strong project management, communication, influencing skills
  • Independent, self-staring thought leader with a proven record of developing and implementing successful and sustainable training programs in a complex environment
  • Ability to collaborate with matrixed leadership teams, present and influence buy-in to innovative learning & development strategies
