About the role
We are looking for a Policy Manager who will be responsible for managing our Privacy and Security Working Group, which is one of the association’s most prominent groups. The position requires a critical thinker – someone who has outstanding writing skills and a keen interest in developing the association’s positions and outreach strategies on some of the key policy areas of our digital times, such as data flows and cybersecurity.
Key requirements for the role include:
- Master’s degree in law, economics, political science or a related field.
- Three to five years’ work experience in a policy, advocacy, government or campaigns role, with at least two years working with the European institutions.
- Experience in data protection and/or cybersecurity policy highly desirable.
- Ability to build consensus and promote trust both externally and internally.
- Excellent research, writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to synthesise policy documents, identifying relevant key points, facts and statistics that help explain complicated policy topics to broad audiences in a concise way.
- Ability to drive advocacy campaigns combining policy lobbying and media work.
- Excellent presentation skills, with experience of presenting to senior staff and external audiences.
- Excellent writing skills in English. Knowledge of German and/or French is desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment, with competing priorities and workloads.
- Well-organised with a proven ability to multitask.
- Ability to consistently apply good judgment and make good and responsible decisions.
