We are growing our Engineering department in St. Truiden and have an open position for a New Technologies Development Engineer with a focus on Monroe Intelligent Suspension products. We will provide a dynamic work environment, the chance to grow within the company and to further develop your competences in advanced suspension technologies.You will be responsible for the development of damping systems and components (hydraulic and/or electro-hydraulic) for suspension systems. Your projects focus on innovation, cost reductions or standardization and are driven by internal and external customers. You define technical interfaces with internal and external project development teams. As we are leading the way in advanced suspension technologies, we regularly come across unchartered territory. You will come up with ideas, new and different solutions to problems, but also critically review proposed solutions and designs.You are part of our business units’ cross-functional New Technology Introduction (NTI) project team. The goal of NTI projects is to develop and introduce new advanced suspensions systems or improving existing technologies. Our team members work in engineering, product management, purchasing and manufacturing engineering. Each team member works on multiple projects and handles a wide variety of tasks and challenges.Every New Technology and Development Engineer has solid knowledge in her/his technical field. Your specific knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and/or materials adds to the success of your projects. You work closely with the manufacturing team (Design for Manufacturing/ Design for Assembly) during design development, process development and production phases. You present status of your project or sub-projects to the broader engineering team and NTI project team.You can count on motivated colleagues, professional space for creativity and initiative and short communication lines. . You will come up with ideas, new and different solutions to problems, but also critically review proposed solutions and designs. We are perseverant and excellent team players.Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with engineering experience in automotive
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, preferable in automotive
  • Experience with product design and development
  • Fluent in English
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to travel up to 10%
