Job Purpose and ImpactThe New Ingredient and Process Development Leader Specialized Nutrition will lead routine activities of the group product and process development organization as a member of the leadership team. In this role, you will manage the product innovation pipeline in specialized nutrition globally and ensure that projects are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets by translating customer and market needs and manufacturing process improvement opportunities into innovative products and process solutions.Key Accountabilities
  • Build a high performing, highly engaged product and process development Specialized Nutrition team to create vision, strategic workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, organizational development, engagement, communication.
  • Provide leadership and advisory on how to execute our innovation and continuous improvement portfolio and product line architecture.
  • Develop and optimize efficient processes to produce (new) specialty ingredients.
  • Define and own the specifications for (new) products and ingredients.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of selected projects within global product and continuous improvement specialty portfolio, according to agreed time frames and budgets.
  • Identify most suitable manufacturing locations and/or tolling partners.
  • Support technology scouting by providing technology leadership in the identification and selection of novel technologies to accelerate our innovation process.
  • Advise to operations to develop core sensory competencies within the team and drive the execution of the global sensory program.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant scientific, technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six years of experience in managing the development process of new ingredient solutions
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience
  • Open to travel up to 30%
  • Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the development process of new ingredient solutions (has launched new products)
  • Experienced in line management and leading a technical team with staff from multiple locations and disciplines
  • Familiar with key processes of the main Cargill product lines
  • Well versed in food technology (ingredient development and processing)
  • Well connected with other Cargill R&D teams and external technology providers
  • Familiar with PDP process
  • Ability to encourage diverse thinking to promote and nurture innovation
  • Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to understand the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, focusing on continuous improvement
  • Ability to make sense of complex, high-quantity, and sometimes contradictory, information to effectively solve problems
  • Ability to develop and deliver multimode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Fluent in other languages
