Job Purpose and Impact

The Product Line Director will direct and develop strategy across the entire chocolate and coating and filling product line portfolio. This role requires deep market knowledge as well as customer insights which are translated into strategies. This role is accountable for leading the product line architecture for chocolate and coatings and fillings in line with our strategy which is to focus on growing to more added value segments. The Product Line Director provides leadership towards the product line managers, strategic marketing and the commercial manager who runs the day-to-day commercial business and operational capacity management. The role is a member of the European chocolate leadership team.

Key Accountabilities
  • Accountable for the gross margin PNL and the total chocolate and coatings & fillings product portfolio. Drives this portfolio and the product and asset strategy of the European chocolate division through the organization.
  • Owner of the Product Line Architecture chocolate and coating & fillings in collaboration with R&D and marketing. Ensures a product portfolio that is on trend and satisfies the needs of our customers and ensures technical capabilities to produce.
  • Owner of the Product Management Review within the IBP cycle.
  • Excellent management of a large group of stakeholders within sales, R&D, operations, supply chain and trading, such as, the Group leadership team, Global PLM director cocoa, Sales leadership team, R&D EMEA leader, Operations leader, Supply Chain leader and Trade leaders within cocoa and chocolate is required.
  • Leads a team of product line managers and strategic marketing manager that champions the strategy execution within the organization and commercial manager and indirect the margin managers, strategic pricing who ensures we deliver the profit and loss.
  • Provides strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting. You will also collaborate with managers in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of eight years of related work experience, five years of supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in chocolate industry
  • Understands the complexity of the portfolio and its tradeoffs
