Position title: Project Manager, Operations - DYMO

Location: Sint-Niklaas, BE (on-site)

Reports to: Sr. Plant Manager

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Job Summary

As a Project Manager, Operations you will be a part of plant management team of the DYMO consumables factory in Sint-Niklaas. You will work closely with the management team and take charge of cross-functional project teams where you will be responsible that the correct deliverables are delivered for each milestone.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take the lead in putting together the project teams (in consultation with the resource managers) and monitor a clear division of roles. The tasks and responsibilities for each team member are clearly defined. During the execution of a project, ensure good communication within the organization. Ensure that all stakeholders of a project are always aware of the status of a project and are involved in decision-making in function of their responsibilities within the project. Projects can include the following domains: productivity improvement (material, overhead, working hours), new or modified raw materials, validation of new suppliers, automation, operational excellence (lean, six sigma), quality improvements, New Product Development and sustaining.
  • Manage the cross-functional team and take the lead in clearly defining the scope of the project.
  • Manage and report the following KPIs: cost, duration and objective/purpose of the project. Anticipate in good time if a project objective is likely not to be achieved. Take initiative to make adjustments and escalate in time if necessary.
  • Take the lead in developing and maintaining realistic timelines. Monitor the critical path and deadlines in projects and adjust and escalate if necessary.
  • Document and report in a structured and systematic way according to the agreed standards within the company. Contribute to continuous improvement of new and existing procedures (product development – industrialization procedure – roles and responsibilities within the matrix organization).
  • Take an active role in the management meetings: Weekly Operations Review, Monthly Operations Review, RSL PAC Meeting, High Level Projects Review Meeting.
  • Initiate ad hoc or periodic meetings, according to the needs of each project.
  • Manage the Plant Master Project Plan and help ensure the balance between the available (necessary) resources and the objectives of the Plant.
  • Motivate the project team members and act as a coach of the cross-functional teams.
  • Take up tasks and responsibilities within the Newell Corporate OPEX project PEAK.
  • Comply with existing policies, instructions and procedures regarding Safety, Environment, ISO and 6S
Qualifications
  • Industrial Engineer or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management or project management or managerial position within a production environment.
  • High proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Very good knowledge of Dutch and English.
