Context

The development of the green economy, with its important challenges and opportunities, requires a specific organization. For this purpose, all our renewable energy activities are currently being re-grouped under “John Cockerill Renewable”, specifically thermal solar, hydrogen and Integrated Renewable Solutions (IRS).

In a context where more and more private and public actors are looking to reduce their carbon footprint, IRS develops turnkey integrated energy solutions, combining multiple techno bricks (storage, PV, wind, cogen, energy recovery H2, EV+H2 charging hubs etc.). Closely related with project development and execution, we perform R&D activities to test new business cases, optimize design, and implement our in-house developed “Energy Management System”, controlling production assets and storage in an intelligent and optimized way.

Main Duties

The Proposal Engineer is in charge of the technical part of proposals issued by IRS team. He closely works with specialist Engineers, the business Development & Sales Manager, and also, the Solution Architect.

He reports directly to the Vice President.

The Proposal Engineer Particularly Insures :

• The constitution of the technical package from reception of the client technical specification, or the inputs of the Process Engineer/Solution Architect, to the finalisation of the contract. That includes :
• The analysis of the technical specificationof the client (if any), to point out the critical information allowing the definition and sizing of the equipment and the estimation of internal hours (engineering, project management, erection, commissioning, training,..);
• The coordination with several specialists (Electricity, I&C, Meca Design, civil works, EMS,…) and with sub-contractors or partners (Engine, Gas Turbine, Heat recovery system, Heat pumps, PV, Wind Turbine, Storage,…);
• The redaction of thetechnical specificationto request proposal to suppliers;
• The follow-up of the drawings, BOQ and PID execution, executed by draftmen;
• The establishment of the technical description, which will be part of our offer, and, in fine, of the contract;
• The filling of the estimatedocument, according to internal rules;
• The negotiation with the suppliers and with client of the technical aspects of the proposal.
• The promotion of the JC Group in front of potential stakeholders, and of our projects in front or our colleagues, clients and internal suppliers.
• An expertise role of his field of knowledge in front of other BU of the Group.
• The technology and market watch for all developments which could bring added value to the Group.

Profile

• You have an engineering master(civil or industrial);
• You have minimum successful experience in engineering in an industrial environment,
• Experience in the oil & gas, power, renewable energy or large industrial equipment is a great asset for the role
• You have a successful experience as a Proposal engineer, you are able to respond to complex industrial tenders
• You have a strong and autonomous personality, an entrepreneurial mindset and a will to win;
• You are fluent in English, and French. Dutch is an asset;
• You are proficient in MS Office
• You are available for short-term temporary assignments abroad.
