A company playing a lead role in the cross-border payment services and based in Brussels is currently looking to hire a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to play a key part in ensuring the regulatory compliance of the company.

Your main responsibilities as the new Regulatory Compliance Specialist will include:

  • Monitor the evolution of the legal and regulatory environment
  • Initiate, drive and follow up on regulatory compliance projects
  • Assist with the setting up of relevant policies, processes, procedures, and other documentation requirements deriving from these regulations
  • Monitor and test overall compliance within the organisation
  • Follow up on regulatory reporting deadlines and assist with the regulatory reporting where required
  • Assist in the identification, assessment and measurement of the different regulatory compliance related risks across the organisation, in collaboration with the business and operational teams, and escalate these where relevant
  • Report on regulatory compliance to the Management on a regular basis
  • Assist with regulatory examinations, management of answers provided, and driving accountability for necessary process improvements
  • Ensure all outsourcing contracts the company enters into, meet all requirements imposed by the National Bank of Belgium on outsourcing of activities by Payment Institutions.
  • Actively contribute to the regulatory Compliance function continuous improvement process

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent by experience
  • Previous regulatory or compliance department experience in a transactional, financial services environment
  • Fluent in French or Dutch and English (both orally and in writing)

Your strengths:

  • You have experience with the latest approaches for regulatory compliance within the financial services industry in Belgium / Europe and with complying with money transfer and payments regulations
  • You have experience with project management
  • You are practical, hands-on, problem solver
  • You demonstrate the ability to work across functions with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with emerging payment technologies and/or cross-border payments is a plus
