Senior Attorney
We are looking for a Senior Attorney to join and support our Wolters Kluwer Benelux Legal Department in Belgium.
It’s an exciting time to be part of the Wolters Kluwer Benelux legal team. In this position you will work primarily for the Legal & Regulatory and Tax & Accounting divisions of Wolters Kluwer in Belgium. You will be based in Mechelen but with the option to partly work from home post-covid.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Managing of customer and vendor contracts including the support of the business teams in negotiating contracts and participating in public tenders
  • Corporate housekeeping
  • Creating and continuing the improvement of standard form agreements, playbooks, policies and legal processes
  • Partnering with management and sales, marketing, product and finance teams and advising on day-to day-legal issues, legal risks and best practices, intellectual property matters and compliance activities, collaborating with the Privacy Officer on privacy issues
  • Managing disputes, litigation and outside counsel relationships
  • Performing other assignments and projects as required
Your profile
  • You are a fully qualified lawyer with completed academic legal education
  • You have at least five years of professional experience in an internationally operating company with complex structures, ideally in a large corporation
  • You ideally have basic knowledge of contract, corporate, IP (Copyright) and IT laws as well as experience in the relevant use cases in a commercial enterprise
  • You have an affinity for IT and digital as well as a good understanding of technical and economic contexts
  • You act independently and proactively (“hands on”), can prioritize topics / requests and subsequently implement them in a structured and solution-oriented manner
  • With your strong communication skills and friendly persuasiveness, you are able to communicate confidently at eye level even with demanding stakeholders
  • A very good command of Dutch, French and English rounds off your profile
