Senior Laboratory Technologist, Genomics

Summary

We are currently looking for a Senior Laboratory Technologist to strengthen our team. In this position you will be responsible for carrying out molecular laboratory analyzes within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you also perform molecular analyses. For this we often work with the latest molecular technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Performing specialized molecular analyzes of varying complexity and on different platforms
  • Documenting the laboratory work performed and assisting with data interpretation
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot analysis equipment and reporting of malfunctions
  • Monitoring lab processes and registering data in the lab information management system (LIMS)
  • Preparing analysis, equipment and samples according to requirements for testing
  • writing Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions

Education

  • a Professional bachelor’s degree (Medical, Pharmaceutical or Biomedical laboratory technology or Biochemistry)

Main Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a molecular laboratory
  • You can easily use a computer (Word, Excel) and a database or you are willing to learn this
  • You are flexible, communicative and enjoy working in a team
  • You will work within a quality system (ISO 15189:2012), which requires you to be accurate, and can work in a planned and documented manner
  • You can express yourself fluently, orally and in writing, in Dutch and English
  • You have good reporting skills for processing the results and can work independently
  • You have a flexible and enthusiastic working attitude and are decisive

Working Conditions

  • Contract of indefinite duration
  • Time arrangement: Full-time, 38 hours
  • Timetable: Day work, 9am – 5pm
