The function

As a Strategic Product Manager, you are at the centre to sustain the strong innovation track record of Barco’s Large Video Wall Experience Business Unit (LVX). You define product (hardware, software or services) innovations aligned with segment value propositions and based on a deep understanding of the customer needs. You drive the innovation agenda and build the business case while prioritizing, testing and validating innovation concepts. You interact closely with other teams (R&D, Marketing & Sales, Service, Supply Chain) to ensure future revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the voice of the customer in the target market segment, and identify how most customer value can be created, across the end-to-end customer journey
• Define mid- to long-term innovation opportunities based on market trends, maximizing customer value and leveraging the latest technology trends
• Prioritize, test and validate innovation concepts
• Develop the business case & define business models - prepare, organize & lead the Business Case Review, in strong collaboration with Segment Marketing
• Focus on the customer experience, driving differentiation through a deep understanding of customer needs and best-in-class user experience thinking. You represent the customer and end-user internally and externally
• Gather competitive intelligence and perform competitive analysis
• Conduct market, customer and internal research to gather product insights, supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
  
  

Your profile

Experience

• Master’s degree with strong on-the-job experience
• Minimum of 5 years in product management and innovation
• Must have a technical skill set in or know-how of a similar industry or technology
• Strong experience in strategic thinking, market analysis, translation into strategy and portfolio management
• Experience working in a product-driven organization and working on the intersection of product and software

• You are a team player – willing to win together and help each other out, ability to cooperate with the different stakeholders in the organization
• You like to present to an audience, are good at interacting with people and are curious for new ideas
• You are capable of expressing ideas through sketches and wireframes supporting the designers in the creation of the visual interface of a product
