We are looking for a Support Engineer/Technical support to strengthen our Performance & Industrial Excellence Center within the CTO department.
You report to the head of the Performance and Industrial Excellence center. Within your department you work closely together with the leads “Cost Improvement” and “Performance Improvement” as well as the specialist “Technical skill development”. You support them to roll their roadmap on the different sites. Within CTO, you can rely on a technical expert team as well as other experts within the other CTO departments (CAPEX/Innovation/ARMP-WCMa).
Responsibilities
Safety:
- Field presence is in your DNA: You know the importance of being present in the field.
- You have a proven record of being in the field to reinforce good behavior or correct wrong behavior.
- You are aware of and have a proven record of applying the principles of “just culture”.
- You are a driver to realize the Aperam safety indicators over the different sites by sharing best practices.
- You take safety into account in every aspect of your job (whether it is selecting suppliers or prioritizing projects, …)
- You will support the performance improvement roadmap of P&IEC applied on the different divisions with regard to OEE (T1/T2/T3) and cost;
- You will participate in the further development of new suppliers;
- You will support the vision of Aperam’s strategy on specialties/duplex by optimizing the production processes with regard to these products;
- You will play an active role in the prevention/elimination of process problems in production and new (project) start-ups of all divisions and share practices;
- You will do this by
- supporting the Lead “Performance improvement” with specific tasks to improve the OEE over different sites (benching, projects, practice sharing, …). Your ideas and view on the matter will be valued.
- supporting the Lead “Cost improvement” with the homologation process of new suppliers. You identify shortcomings and collect lessons learnt to integrate this prior to a full roll-out.
- supporting the department with regard to data gathering and analyses to identify opportunities for improvement.
- taking the lead in the project execution
- You share lessons learnt on one site with the other involved plants.
- You work closely together with and get the buy-in of all involved stakeholders in what you do. E.g.: Production/ Production services/ Supply chain/ Purchasing department. You keep the best interest of Aperam in mind, listening and taking concerns into account in your work outcome.
- You prioritize the work in accordance with Aperams’ most recent defined goals.
- Engineering degree with a minimum of 10 years work experience in the industry sector or any other related field.
- Willingness to travel is required.
- You are driven and result-oriented.
- You are an analytical problem solver who is accountable and feels responsible
- You speak profound English and can speak fluently at least 1 of the following other languages (French, Portuguese, German or Dutch).
- You know how to analyze data and draw the right conclusions from it.
- You create bridges between the operational departments and CTO
- You are a good communicator who knows how to listen
- You foster an environment of trust
