What does this job entail?

Reporting at KBC Asset Management is quite varied. When our clients consider investing in a fund, they screen the fact sheet and look for the fund product score. Once they’re invested, they expect a monthly report on how their portfolio is performing. Also, the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) needs EU Money Market Funds Regulation-input from us on a quarterly basis. As a System Engineer in our team, you play a crucial role in the delivery of all of these reports.

You’ll be a part of one of our product teams, which is responsible for the development and maintenance of applications used in the regulatory reporting process. These applications are used internally and by our institutional as well as our private clients.

Your focus will be the Scriptura Engage platform. This is a reporting tool that produces documents in pdf, mail, word, HTML, … For us, it generates prospectuses, annual reports, fund fact sheets and KIID’s (Key Investor Information Documents). The templates that define the layout and the content are developed and maintained by a business team. You develop the document flows: the processes to gather data, get approval and publish. This involves low-code programming and extensive use of the XML ecosystem.

That’s it in a nutshell. If you have any questions for us, shoot! And do read on.

What do we expect from you?

  • You keep the Scriptura environment up and running. Thus assuring the operational business processes.
  • You handle change requests that deliver business value. You’ll support business stakeholders and functional analysts to translate complex requirements into a set of functional stories. You’ll be the intermediary between business stakeholders, your ICT colleagues, our own analysts and the vendor (UnifiedPost).
  • Before, during and after the implementation phase you have the end-to-end ownership of these changes. Together with colleagues who support you, you analyse, challenge, plan, build, review, test, evaluate, train, support, … Never a dull moment.

Your key strengths?

  • Ideally, you have a bachelor or a master degree in IT. But honestly, your knowledge, skills and mindset are what matter most to us.
  • You’re eager to learn (more) about the XML ecosystem, Application Lifecycle Management tool suite (Atlassian), Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server 2019 management tools, Postman/SoapUI and job scheduling software. Already have knowledge of one or more of these. Even better!
  • You enjoy working together with others to achieve results. Just like your colleagues, you value team spirit.
  • At the same time, it’s no problem for you to work independently. When you need help, you simply ask for it.
  • You’re a pragmatic problem solver with a high level of accountability and commitment.
  • You have good communication skills in English. For us, this also means you dare to speak your mind and are able to respectfully challenge requirements.
  • You embrace the agile way of working, more specifically SAFe.

  • You will receive a permanent contract with a competitive salary, including an extensive package of additional benefits.
