Technical Expert / Senior Architect (JAVA) (m/f)

Context

This is a role for somebody looking for a flat organizational structure, where creative ideas and proactivity are welcome. The department acts like "firefighting", solving complex problems and bringing the best solution, whenever needed, as such this is a great opportunity for somebody willing to constantly improve his knowledge and feel challenged on the long term, in a friendly and cooperative environment.

The type of tasks included in the service will concentrate on supporting the Commission staff in the area of structuration and implementation of the audit management ecosystem.

You will:

• Provision of advice for assistance on delivery, maintenance, deployment, hosting and effective use of information systems and their environments in the area of responsibility.
• Provision of quality plans, service level agreements, quality control and evaluation, quality assessments or other quality matters associated with information systems projects.
• Expert knowledge in relational databases (ORACLE). Ability to devise and execute SQL queries, design database schemas, modify table structures and propose database level optimizations.
• Perform architecture, design and reference development, unit/integration testing and maintenance of software that both in line with the reference architecture rules and accurately implement the specifications.
• Assistance and support to information system developers.
• Functional requirements and business case analysis.
• Risk analysis.
• Provision of technical studies, technical expertise, technical evaluations in relation with information systems.
• Provide assistance or support in the resolution of production issues.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

You have:

• In depth knowledge of information systems in the Architecture, Design and Implementation areas.
• Good communicator.
• Expert knowledge and working experience of JAVA using Java Enterprise or Spring technologies.
• Experience with AGILE methodology for software development.
• Expert knowledge in relational databases design and optimisation.
• Good knowledge of UML Modelling language.
• Expert knowledge in Object Oriented Design and Development, abstract thinking, reusable components design and development.
• Expert knowledge of Architecture and software design patterns.
• Experience with Message Oriented Middleware/Enterprise Service Bus technologies.
• Experience with micro services and RESTful paradigms.
• Experience with modern UI paradigms (client-side scripting Angular).
• Capacity in preparing and writing studies.
• Ability to apply high quality standards.
• Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, excellent communicator.
• Capability of working in an international/ multicultural environment.

• Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Ability to grasp context, analytical mind
• Ability to work efficiently in a team
• Curiosity and proactiveness
• A tendency for continous learning and personal improvement
• Excellent communication skills in English, French is a plus
