For one of our clients, located in Erembodegem, we are looking for a Test Automation Engineer. Due to the long duration of the project this role is open to freelancers and employees.

As QA Automation Engineer you are assigned to one of the development squads and responsible for reviewing quality specifications and technical design documents to provide meaningful feedback on new features, new applications but also on debugged issues in the existing platform. You contribute to delivering the highest product quality.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyze functional requirements to identify test cases, write and document well-structured test scenarios
  • Plan and execute automated and manual testing, record the results and raise defects
  • Identify where testing can be automated, write and maintain automation scripts
  • Work closely with other cross-functional teams and tech leads to drive test automation according to best practices
  • Execute, track and report automated tests
  • Monitor and adapt the development lifecycle to resolve malfunctions and to identify enhancements which you recommend to the team
  • Work according to Agile principles, embrace change and have an open and eager mindset in improving yourself and your team
  • Keep abreast with new technologies and share your knowledge with others in QA guild

Your profile

  • You obtained a higher degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering or equivalent
  • Several years of professional experience in automated and manual testing according to best practices
  • You are an effective communicator who uses appropriate language at all levels ‑both spoken and written- in English, and (ideally) in Dutch
  • Experienced in designing high-quality test cases for web or native applications
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining automated tests using tools such as Cucumber-JVM, REST-assured, Selenium/Appium, Browserstack, Postman, Jmeter, Xray and GIT
  • Knowledge of BDD testing and technologies
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence) or similar
  • A drive for continuous improvement & learning
  • You believe in the strength of working according to Agile Manifesto
  • You develop with passion, work structured and have an eye for detail while keeping bigger picture in mind
  • You are an analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • You have a healthy sense of urgency and excellent prioritization skills
  • You have an innovative and creative mindset
  • you are a team player who derives satisfaction from working closely with others
  • You are capable of working in a high pressure, fast moving environment
