Department

You will be responsible for the European Distribution Centre (EDC) of spare parts which is a part of the Service Division. The team takes care of all incoming spare parts, stores them and prepares them to be delivered to all over the EMEA region. Hereby we can distinguish two main flows: Replenishment of the Regional Distribution Centers and direct deliveries to customers. Spare parts deliveries are seasonal and during peak-times we deliver up to 1.200 express deliveries/day to our customers. The European Distribution Centre, located in Ostend, covers approx. 20.000m² and manages 30.000 different Stock Keeping Units. In the Beginning of 2017, the scope of EDC was enlarged and a new WMS (Warehouse Management System) was implemented. A goods to man system was also installed and put into use. To support the continuing growth, increase efficiency and customer service level, we are looking for a Warehouse Manager.

Function

After a thorough training you will be responsible for the performance of the warehouse in all aspects. You will lead a team of 60 colleagues and will be responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse. On the one hand you will lead a team which is responsible for the operations on the other hand you will also steer an administrative team which supports the operational processes. A team of supervisors and group leaders will support you in the steering of the daily operations.

Your function is to manage the processes. This means you will need to make up an yearly action plan to cope with different goals of the company. (Cost competitive, customer satisfaction, flexible process with a minimum carbon footprint).

You will be also responsible to coach your team and support them during the daily execution but also implement improvements at different levels.

We are looking for a candidate with analytical skills as well as strong coaching skills.

Profile

• You have a master’s degree in an industrial area
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a leadership role (warehouse or other operations)
• You are customer and service oriented, pragmatic and able to convince people.
• You have the ability to mentor and coach team members to support their career and personal development.
• You engage interest and participation of others and have a collaborative approach to working with others
• You work ethically and with full integrity when making time sensitive or difficult decisions.
• You Continuously identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the team and process.
• You utilize your data analysis skills to effectively identify value opportunities
• You take the initiative to challenge inefficiencies, process deviations, and strategy deviations
• You have excellent analytical skills in producing KPI reports.

• You are stress-resistant
• You are result oriented with the ability to plan and deliver according to project deadlines

• Dutch is a requirement but good knowledge of English is also a must.
