ESG Methodology: Quality Managment and Assurance Lead

OVERVIEW

ISS ESG is seeking a Quality Manager to join our Global ESG Methodology team in our Brussels location (alternatively in our Stockholm, Berlin, Paris or London location).

ESG Methodology is a horizontal function across all ESG research and solution verticals, ensuring high quality and consistency of methodologies, innovative solutions and gold standard in research and resulting signals.

The focus of the Quality Management and Assurance Lead role will be to work with ESG Methodology team in building quality management structures for the ISS ESG Research team. The Quality Manager will establish and be responsible for carrying out a Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle and will closely cooperate with the respective research and product teams to continuously ensure that the highest research and data quality standards are maintained.

ISS ESG teams are based in the Philippines, the US, Australia, Germany, Sweden, India, and the UK. The successful candidate will work both independently as well as collaboratively with the local team and colleagues across our global offices. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take ownership for ISS ESG-wide Quality Management Policy and Standard, covering various ESG research verticals, processes, data flows and deliveries

• Document relevant quality procedures, requirements etc. and maintain up-to-date documentation

• Identify areas with need of improvement, plan and implement changes and provide training, tools and techniques to enable analysts to achieve quality standards (continuous improvement)

• Devise and maintain quality controls

• Define relevant KPIs and report on performance

• Establish protocols and develop audit procedures for research with regard to sensitive research topics in cooperation with compliance and the research team

• Leverage key quality differentiators of the ISS ESG Research Quality Management function

• Establish deep relationships and partner with research and product teams to facilitate further integration of quality structures and processes

• Monitor developments in the responsible investment space, review and affirm alignment of our quality approach with relevant regulatory and voluntary standards

• Monitor compliance with quality requirements via checks and audits

• Initiate quality enhancements in line with client and market expectations

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience with ESG investor research or comparable services to the financial industry and/or in a quality- or process-management related role – preferably a combination of both

• Experience with or knowledge in quality management regimes and techniques

• Strong technical (Excel-based) and analytical skills, particularly in the areas of quantitative research, analysis and data management

• Solutions- and execution-oriented approach

• Exceptional project management skills

• Organizational skills, attention to detail, a self-driven work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment

• Ability to work within a team-oriented cross-functional environment and communicate with various internal parties; experience working with teams located in multiple cities and countries preferred.

• Fluency in English; additional language capabilities are an asset (especially German, French, Japanese, Korean or Mandarin)
